Elementary education is the basis for the child’s future and determines his/ her success in life. At SAPS, we believe that children must receive a thorough grounding of whatever concepts they learn and that this learning has to be integrated with life. The motto of the school is, ‘achieve excellence in learning’.
Our methodology of teaching is best explained through the four stages of schooling your child goes through. At the kindergarten level, we follow the Integrated Montessori approach. This approach seeks to sensitize toddlers to the learning environment, by reaching out to their intelligence and understanding their unique talents.
Toddlers are quick to learn things through their
interaction with the environment around them. Which is why, we introduce
experiential learning at this early stage itself. This nurtures their curiosity
and helps develop their cognitive and analytical skills.
Fun is an important aspect of learning for tiny tots. So we ensure that
there isn’t a dull moment in their day at SAPS.
Primary school (Grade I-V) is when children begin to learn concepts that
form the basis of their understanding of life. This is the time when they need
to be eased into comprehending and grasping theoretical ideas that can be stored
for future reference. So before they are taught anything, they need to learn how
to learn.
Students at the primary level therefore, are exposed to myriad learning
tools and stimuli to explore and develop their multiple intelligences. The
primary school classroom looks more like a curiosity studio – with interactive
learning aids, colourful display boards and activity zones. Academic development
apart, they begin to recognize and build their natural talents with our
innovative teaching techniques and teaching aids and fine arts studios.
When once the children are given a taste of knowledge, their curiosity and
yearning knows no bounds. They seek answers to all their questions. They sample
different subjects to understand what they like the most. They experiment with
different activities to discover where their interest lies. And they devour
every source of information to pacify their hunger for learning. This is the
stage when it’s most important to develop a foundational knowledge that will
help them scale the heights of success at the High School level.
The Middle School , i.e., Grade VI-VIII at Sri Aurobindo Public School North
with varied activities by our well-qualified and experienced mentors help
children instill a love for subjects, and encourage them to have an
investigative mind to explore the many knowledge banks that open up. Regular
assessments and assignments help optimize the learning experience. And parents
are kept informed to help guide the children towards positive learning.
Full-fledged fitness and sports programs, as well as an array of fine arts
activities, including music, dance, dramatics, art, etc. help develop a
well-rounded personality in children. At this level, the focus is mainly on the
social, personal and intellectual growth of the child.
High School is the threshold of what the future holds for the child. High
school students are at a stage when everything they do and every decision they
take, determines their role and success in society.
Therefore, the emphasis on academic excellence is the highest at the high
school level (Grade IX-X), with intense coaching, assignments and assessments
throughout the academic year. Every student is also given individual attention
in order to help them achieve their highest potential. Teacher-parent
interaction is encouraged, to help the guardians track and promote their child’s
progress at this crucial academic juncture.
Apart from sports and talent promotion, vocational counselling is introduced
to help students plan their choice of professional courses. Leadership skills
and team spirit are instilled by involving the students in the school’s event
planning and management activities.
